2. Information we process

Information stored on your device

Your chosen name, language, favourites, history, timer and preferences are stored locally in your browser. CookModo does not receive your name and does not require an account or email address.

Anonymous statistics

To understand the app's overall operation, we may record a random identifier, approximate country, device category, operating system, browser, CookModo version and food card openings. If the service is temporarily unavailable, these submissions may be kept in a limited queue on your device until the connection returns. We do not store what you type in the search box, your IP address, exact device model or data intended to identify you personally.

Abuse protection

To prevent abusive automated submissions, the server creates a temporary non-reversible code from the connection. The IP address is not stored and the code expires automatically after a short period.

3. Google AdSense advertising

CookModo has prepared its Google AdSense integration, but advertising is disabled. While it remains disabled, CookModo does not load Google's advertising script or display ads.

When advertising is activated, Google's certified consent management platform will be used in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. You will be able to accept, reject or manage available purposes before data is used for personalised advertising.

4. Purposes and legal bases

• Provide requested features and save your preferences on the device.
• Obtain aggregate statistics to maintain and improve CookModo.

5. Providers and international transfers

We use the hosting and infrastructure providers required to publish CookModo. Google AdSense will only participate when advertising is activated.

6. Retention and control

Local data remains until you delete it from Settings, clear browser data or uninstall the app. When you delete it, CookModo creates a new anonymous identifier for future statistics; previously submitted anonymous records may remain in aggregate form and do not contain your name or email address. Statistics are kept only as long as needed to analyse CookModo's operation.

7. Your rights

You may request information, access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction or portability where applicable. You may also withdraw consent at any time and complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

CookModo does not knowingly request personal information from children and does not offer user accounts. Contact us if you believe a child's personal information has been processed.

9. Changes

We will update this policy when features, providers or legal obligations change. The date of the current version appears at the top of this page.
